How many wheels do yo have driving? I used a cylinder stop on my 7000 6 row (frowned on by planter gurus ) to keep enough weight on the drive wheels to keep them turning. I would replace the bearings on the clutch shaft while you have it apart. Replace all the bearings on the drive lines and in the transmission and replace the clutch near the transmission. Is this all that is needed because I was under the impression it was more going to be more expensive? Īnd before you say Jamison drive, as much as I'd love to have that, I can't possibly see how I could swing it at less than 100 acres per year, especially with some other things I need.ĮDIT to replace 'transmission' with 'clutch'. What am I probably looking at price wise to replace this? I see shoup has a kit for about $155. This is my first planter and have only had it a few years so I've haven't had to do anything this significant to it yet. Google satellite updated recently and I realized the skips were even worse than I thought, especially the last 15 acres so I'm assuming I'll need to replace the clutch.
When scouting fields this summer I noticed I had some skips.
